A Sincere Thanks and How Can I Make Get Busy Living More Useful to You?

I’ve been blogging seriously here for four months now. It’s not a huge accomplishment but it’s a good start.

While this isn’t going to be a long traditional recap post (typically after a year), I do want to say a quick sincere, heartfelt thanks.

At the beginning I didn’t know who would be reading my blog. Normally it’s family and a few friends but I’ve told none of them I have this blog.

I just wrote what I’ve wanted to write about for years. I started reading other blogs. I did the usual such as commenting but I also started learning Twitter.

Now I see my blog and myself growing every week and it’s truly amazing. It’s changing my life.

The best part is the people I have gotten to know in just four short months. People who have become friends, who inspire me, motivate me, and make me laugh. People I could truly see myself sharing a cup of coffee, a beer, or an awesome meal together.

I’m not going to list names cause I said this post would be short and I’m afraid I’d leave someone out. However there are so many I would mention.

This blog isn’t only for me but most importantly for you. Just reading a comment that something I wrote inspired you is the best compliment I can get. I want to do more of that for you.

How can I be more useful to you?

Moving forward I want to continue making Get Busy Living a great resource for you and anyone who comes to visit in the future.

So I’ve created a short survey that won’t take much of your time.

I’m truly honored and thankful you’ve taken the time to come to my blog, read my posts, retweet, comment or have sent me emails. That gives me motivation to keep writing the best content for you.

Thank you for being part of my community and I look forward to reading your survey response!

  1. Hi Benny,

You know, I am new here. But I do like your blog already. So apart from the survey, I don’t know how I can help. But I remember something Howard Thurman said. I think it’ll be helpful for all of us. Here it is:

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

Thanks and have a great day!

  2. Hey Benny – just completed the survey. In short I said that I don’t think you should change the thing. I love your approach and your honest display of your life and your goals.

It’s inspiring for me, and I’m sure others feel the same way.

Good luck with things and please let me know if there’s anything I can assist with.

  3. I agree with JK, Benny. No need to change anything, man. You’re doing a great job. Your sincerity in your writing is evident and that’s what your readers want.

That’s why we visit and see what’s new in the “House of Hsu”. There’s no doubt that you’re inspiring others cause I’m living proof.

Keep doing what you’re doing, buddy!

    • League of Extraordinary Blogger master Kevin!

Thanks so much Kevin. I’m enjoying what I’m doing. Just sometimes I’m in my own little world here and want to make sure what I’m doing brings value to people.

      Much appreciated Kevin!

  4. Hey Benny,

I’m glad you’ve found a lot of satisfaction from blogging. It’s a very reward and sometimes frustrating pursuit. But you’re on the right track though. Keep trying to help others and you’ll get good things back in return. I can imagine having a beer or coffee with you. You seem like an interesting person who has a lot to say. Keep finding that motivation to continue and inspire others.

    • Thanks for leaving a comment Steve. Like I just said to Kevin, sometimes I feel like I’m in my own world but just want to make sure I’m not only writing for myself but bringing value to others.

I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. If our paths cross, we’ll have to get that drink one day for sure.

      Thank you Steve.

  5. Benny, I’ll keep this short!

You are an amazing guy doing an excellent job! You’re definitely one to watch out for! You’re posts and you’re community spirit are of the highest quality, hence your success already! Keep doing what you’re doing buddy! 🙂

    • Thanks Robert! I’m enjoying what I’m doing and I want to make sure I’m inspiring and giving value to readers. I want to make sure I’m still on the right track.

Thanks for the feedback my friend!

  6. Congrats on the last four months! You have a great energy about you that really comes through in your posts. Keep up the great work and here’s to many many more awesome posts! -Sydney 🙂

  7. I’ve really seen this blog grow over the past few months and am glad I’ve gotten to know you too!

Wish I could fill out the survey at work, but I’m getting blocked. Will try to remember to do it when I get home.

  8. Ah we appreciate you my friend. I also agree with JK, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Just blogging about what inspires you, what you wish to overcome, challenges you’ve had and the direction you are headed is what people enjoy about coming over to your place. You are so honest with what you share and it makes us realize that we are just like you. It’s a comfortable place to relax.

Thanks for this post and I promise to complete your survey. You knew I would! 🙂

Have a wonderful afternoon my friend.

    • Hi Adrienne!

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Like I’ve said to others I just want to be sure I continue to inspire and give value to readers. I’ll definitely remember what you said.

  9. Benny,

You have accomplished so much in mere 4 months..simply remarkable man.

I have noticed your honest blogging approach and if you ask me; don’t change a thing. Just do whatever you are doing right now. Seems to me like it is working out great for you.

    Off to take the survey.
    Appreciated buddy!

  10. Thanks to you, Benny, for sharing your heart and passion with us all. I’ve only been following you for a few short months now and have seen your blog blossom even more with every visit.

Take care and ‘talk with you again soon. Have a good one!

    • Thank you Allyson!

I’m working hard to be helpful. It’s not just about talking about me but do it in a way to inspire and motivate others.

Have a great 4th of July weekend!

  11. Hi Benny,

I, too, am a newer reader to your blog, and what I’ve seen so far is great! I appreciate that you’ve asked this question, as it reminds me why I’m blogging. I’m blogging to inspire myself and others.

Having just switched to my own domain and self-hosted WordPress blog, I’ve gotten a little bogged down in a lot of details that aren’t related to inspiring myself and others.

One of the greatest benefits of blogging is the relationships we form and the motivation and inspiration we share with each other and all our readers.

Follow your truth and let your goals guide you today.

    • Hey Chrysta!

Thanks for being a reader to my blog. Isn’t blogging a great platform to write and inspire? It’s amazing. I’m glad you switched to your own domain and hosting. You’ll have much more control over your blog. I understand the behind the scenes stuff is a bit technical sometimes and it takes away from the content and networking. I just went to your blog and loved the design of it. I don’t remember exactly how it looked but what you did to it looks really nice!! I love your header. Did you do it yourself or have it designed?

You’re right about the relationships you meet from blogging. There are some amazing people out there too giving so much value to people. Plus they’re just really nice.

      Thanks for sharing Chrysta!

      • Thanks, Benny!

I’m really pleased with my new site design, courtesy of my good friend, Erin Woodell @ Moxie Image Studios. She did a fantastic job on the logo and banner.

        Enjoy your day!
